Nanobubble generator

Aquamar's nanobubble generator is the most efficient gas injection technology available to dissolve virtually any gas in any liquid. Aquamar's nanobubble generators produce trillions of nano-sized bubbles. Within the Netherlands, we are happy to visit you for a consultation and can measure the oxygen content on-site. Feel free to contact us for more information about the nanobubble generator.

What are nanobubbles?

Nanobubbles are minuscule gas bubbles with a diameter of less than 100 nanometers. For comparison, a human hair is approximately 80,000 nanometers thick. These extremely small air bubbles are invisible to the naked eye and behave fundamentally differently from regular air bubbles.

Because nanobubbles are so small, they don't rise directly to the water's surface. Instead, they remain suspended in the liquid for extended periods. This results in increased gas solubility and much more effective gas transfer to the water or other liquids. This nanobubble technology is particularly valuable when adding oxygen, ozone, or other gases to water.

The Pro-Vida nanobubble generator is equipped with an oxygen generator that allows it to work with up to 90% pure oxygen. Optionally, other equipment such as a UV unit can also be used.

The advantages of a nanobubble generator

The advantages of a nanobubble generator are considerable and make it a valuable investment for a wide range of applications:

  • Efficiency: Because nanobubbles do not bubble out of the water, there is less gas loss and greater effectiveness.
  • Stability: The nanobubbles remain in suspension for a long time, ensuring a lasting effect.
  • Safety: When using ozone, for example, via nanobubbles, the gas is completely dissolved in the water, making it safer for indoor use.
  • Easy to maintain: when combined with a PSA oxygen generator, you don't need to replace gas bottles, which simplifies logistics considerably.

HOW DOES THE PRO-VIDA WORK

In which industries are nanobubbles essential?

The applications of nanobubbles are very diverse. Aquamar provides customized solutions for customers in various sectors. The nanobubble aeration provided by our Pro-Vida is particularly interesting for sectors where oxygen transfer, disinfection, or water quality are essential.

Nanobubbles in greenhouse horticulture

In greenhouse horticulture, it is important that irrigation water is of high quality. The Aquamar nanobubble generator can add ozone or oxygen to the water in basins or pipe systems. This naturally reduces bacteria, viruses, and fungi without the use of chemicals.

Thanks to nanobubble aeration, the bubbles remain active in the water longer, ensuring optimal performance. Moreover, the improved water quality contributes to stronger and healthier crops. Pro-Vida is easily integrated into existing systems and is suitable for both small and large-scale greenhouses.

Nanobubbles in Fish Farming

Fish farms, and particularly recirculating systems (RAS), face high stocking rates and a high oxygen demand. Fish consume oxygen and produce waste products that impact water quality. Using Aquamar's nanobubble generator, oxygen is added to the water much more efficiently.

Because nanobubbles don't rise directly to the surface, the oxygen remains available to the fish for a longer period. This results in less oxygen loss, a more stable ecosystem, and lower operating costs. Aquamar is currently developing even larger Pro-Vida units for use in industrial farming systems.

Nanobubbles in the Food Industry

Food processing often produces wastewater rich in organic matter, such as fats, proteins, and blood residues. This water must be purified before it can be discharged. Nanobubble aeration allows biological treatment plants to function more efficiently, as the bacteria in the system perform better at elevated oxygen levels.

In addition, Aquamar's technology is used abroad to enrich irrigation water in soft fruit cultivation. Our nanobubble generator is proving its value in agriculture and horticulture, particularly in warmer climates such as Chile, Peru, and Mexico.

The Pro-Vida Nanobubble Generator from Aquamar

The Pro-Vida nanobubble generator from Aquamar is designed for maximum effectiveness and ease of use. Thanks to its unique design, virtually any gas, such as oxygen or ozone, can be efficiently dissolved in water. The application of nanobubble technology offers advantages in terms of sustainability, water quality, and gas consumption.

Plasma generator

A plasma generator is used to keep the water clean. The plasma is brought into the water in the form of nano bubbles and is therefore very effectively dissolved in water.

UV-unit

A UV-unit build on the Pro-Vida kills microorganisms and enhances the effect against algae. Particularly suitable for the small models, types 1 to 3.

Improving water quality for professional Fish Farms

In intensive aquaculture, oxygen is the most important factor for stable and healthy water. Especially in Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS), large amounts of oxygen are used because many fish live in relatively little water. Due to feed residues, ammonia, and contamination, oxygen levels continuously decline, requiring farmers to make frequent adjustments.

The Pro-Vida Nanogenerator helps introduce oxygen into the water more efficiently and keep it available for longer. This ensures more stable oxygen values, fewer fluctuations, and a more consistent environment for the fish.

More efficient oxygen addition in RAS systems

In RAS installations, oxygen management is often one of the largest cost components. Traditional aeration methods lose a large part of the added oxygen because it rises to the surface and escapes. Nanobubbles behave differently: they are extremely small, remain suspended longer, and dissolve gradually.

This means that:

  • oxygen remains available for longer
  • fluctuations in dissolved oxygen decrease
  • less adjustment is required

The aquaculture industry already adds substantial amounts of oxygen; nanobubbles make this process more efficient. As a result, our generators are used not only in fish farming but also in greenhouse horticulture and the food industry.

More stable water quality and less stress in fish

While traditional aeration regularly causes peaks and dips, nanobubbles can help maintain much more consistent DO values. A stable oxygen level reduces stress for fish, supports growth, and makes the production process more predictable. Farmers with crowded tanks, high feed rates, or easily contaminated water, in particular, benefit from less fluctuating water quality that is therefore easier to manage. This makes adding oxygen to water a good idea.

Development of larger units for the Aquaculture sector

Larger installations require larger nanobubble generators. We are currently developing systems suitable for farms with high water flows or multiple recirculation lines. We are also starting tests to compare existing oxygen consumption with a nanobubble-based system. This will allow us to determine more accurately how much oxygen a farmer can save in the future.

Market interest is high, and we are working with farmers to determine which configurations best match their water flows and oxygen needs.

Oxygen generator

The Pro-Vida contains an oxygen concentrator which allows us to work with 90% oxygen instead of normal air which only contains 20% oxygen. An oxygen generator is much easier than using gas bottles.
